“I Still Love Roundabouts”

Why not?

Roundabouts save gas and help traffic move along. Carmel has seen a 78% drop in accidents and a savings of 24,000 gallons of gas per year since installing
their roundabouts 10 years ago.

Noblesville has plans for about 10 more along with the six plus two it shares with Fishers. Carmel has 37 roundabouts and is planning 27 more.

We might as well learn to drive in them. If you have not grown up with them you
probably think they are crazy or scary, but if you can just understand the concept, life will move at a smoother pace. Why sit at a stop light when you can just keep moving.

Fishers named 10th best place to live...

The Town of Fishers was named the tenth best place to live in the nation by Money Magazine in its Best Places to Live. The magazine said Fishers' strong economy, home prices, and good schools as factors placing it in the top ten. Fishers is the only Indiana community named.

Fishers is one of eight communities in the nation to be named in the last three Best Places to Live lists for communities with populations over 40,000.

Money Magazine states of Fishers, "When it comes to smart planning and sheer livability, others places could learn a lot from this little city in the Midwest."

This announcement follows the July 2008 edition of Forbes Magazine naming Hamilton County as the best county in the country to raise a family.

Fishers was a great choice when my children decided to purchase homes. They are very happy with the decision to live in Fishers. They are pleased with the schools, neighborhoods and facilities.

Hamilton County, Indiana is America’s Best Place to Raise a Family according to Forbes…

It’s exciting to live in the #1 County in the nation. After living here over 50 years I feel blessed to have enjoyed all the amenities that Hamilton County has to offer. It has been a great place to raise my family and now they are raising their families here also.
Hamilton County’s excellent school districts, population, property taxes and SAT scores were the main areas that Hamilton County reached the top Forbes list of 20 counties..

Forbes officially ranked based on the following 10 points:
1. Cost of living
2. Home prices
3. Property tax rate as a percentage of median home price
4. Percentage of homes occupied by owner
5. Standardized scores
6. Graduation rate
7. Per-capita income
8. Air quality
9. Crime rate
10. Commute time

Hamilton County includes many communities, such as Carmel, Noblesville, Fishers, Westfield, Sheridan and Cicero
Hamilton County offers quaint communities, a terrific school system, great shopping, community parks, a short commute and low crime.

Four of its school districts – Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield and Hamilton Southeastern – have been recognized as some of the best in the state and the nation.

Noblesville was named one of the top 25 suburbs in America by BusinessWeek.com and one of the top 10 places to raise a family according to another publication.

Fishers was also recently cited as one of the best places to live in the nation by U.S. and Money magazines.

Noblesville and Fishers Rapid Transit Line...

Noblesville and Fishers residents who work downtown could have another option to the daily chore of commuting along I-69 towards downtown. A rapid transit line would run from Noblesville and Fishers to downtown Indianapolis during rush hour in the morning and evening and would coordinate with IndyGo buses to pick up commuters.

I am ready for a system that would give us relieve from the congestion that has come with the growth of the Hamilton County. Noblesville and Fishers are popular areas that attract a lot of buyers and as it continues to grow the traffic is going to get more congested.

Noblesville West Gateway Project

Developers to create a west gateway redevelopment plan for about 380 acres west of White River with the goal of creating a strong central district with the river at the middle, New Town to the west and Old Town to the east. I guess I am going to be living in the Old Town and that's okay with me.

The western portion of Noblesville along the White River has plans for commercial and residential development along with some parkland. Kelley said he would like to see mid-rise condominiums west of the river.

Commissioner Steve Dillinger, said a county study of a proposed bridge over White River at Pleasant Street fits into the plan, which gives Noblesville residents another option for crossing White River rather than driving into the Logan St. bridge or the Field Drive Bridge.

Imax Grand Opening

The much awaited opening of the new Imax Theater is scheduled to open on Friday April 4th.

While I am excited about the theater being closer to Noblesville, but I am not excited about the FREE movie they are showing on Saturday.

"The Golden Compass" has been a very contraversial movie among the Christian community. I just wish they had chosen a better movie to let children go to for FREE.

Please check out the website below for more information.

Why Aprils Fools Day?

The First April Fool's Day

Then in 1562, Pope Gregory introduced a new calendar for the Christian world, and the New Year fell on January first. There were some people, however, who hadn't heard or didn't believe the change in the date, so they continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April first.

Others played tricks on them and called them "April fools." They sent them on a "fool's errand" or tried to make them believe that something false was true.

North Harbour in Noblesville

North Harbour in Noblesville is a truly unique community that offers both waterfront homes and golf front homes in the same community. Situated around both the Morse Reservoir and the Harbour Trees Golf Club, North Harbour allows home buyers to choose two very different lifestyles when purchasing a home. Aptly name, North Harbour lies on the northern shores of the Morse Reservoir in Noblesville and offers homes priced from the 100’s to over $1,000,000. While you can spend over a million on a prime lot, lakefront homes can be had for $300,000 - $400,000 which represents an amazing value for waterfront homes. If you are looking for a waterfront home in Indianapolis area and don’t want to pay the premium for living on Geist, North Harbour represents a very nice alternative.

If you are looking to purchase or sell a home in the North Harbour Community, give me a call ...

I would love to answer any questions that you might have.

Target coming to Noblesville

WOW no more driving to Fishers.
Hopefully we will have the new Target Store on the corner of State Road 37 and State Road 32.
I'm not sure how it will be getting into the store with all the traffic issues that we already have but I'm sure I will get there.
I'm really glad to see that empty plot of land finally have something on it. I go by there so much and think how great it would be to have something happening on that corner.

North Harbour Clubhouse to become a Church

North Harbour Clubhouse to become a church.
I have shown this property to prospective buyers but never
envisioned it as a church. It will be interesting to see it
come together as a place of worship.
I thought at one time it would probably be develped
into an apartment complex or perhaps condos but
never in my wildest thoughts was a church considered.
We can always use a new place of worship.

Westfield growth on verge of explosion

It's hard to believe that little Eagletown is going to bloom.

Can you imagine over 2,000 homes, apartments, condo, and schools in that little community that has sat there so long.

Eagletown of Westfield is a nearly 1,000-acre planned community which would be located between Springmill Road and Eagletown Road on the north side of Indiana 32.

Today is Leap Day!

And so Friday ends the oddest of months. Every four years, the shortest month of the Gregorian calendar gets a little shot of adrenaline with a big ending.

Due to the Earth's rotation actually lasting 365 days and six hours, the extra day coming (nearly) every four years is used to correct the actual number of days.

This leap year brings an occurrence that happens once every 28 years.

Leap day will be on a Friday this year, an occurrence that last happened in 1980 and will occur again in 2036, said Dolores Tichenor, a professor of mathematics at Tri-State University.

"It's fairly regular, every four years, it changes by five-day cycles continually," Tichenor said. This pattern changes when the calendar hits those century years without leap days.

Noblesville Rated One of the Best Communities in the US

It's great to know that my parents were so smart to choose for me to grow up in the one of the Best Communities in the United States. I always knew I lived in a great community but when I saw that someone other than local residents had chosen our city I thought WOW!
Authors Bert Sperling and Peter Sander ranked Noblesville 10th in their book, "Best Places to Raise Your Family: The Top 100 Affordable Communities in the U.S."

Another New Road

Hard to believe that the area I grew up in is going to have a 4 lane highway going through it. I can remember when we got excited that the road was going to be paved

It will be so nice to have a mojor north-south corridor that we won't have to deal with all the traffic on St. Rd. 37.

With most of my family now living in Fishers, I will be able to take Promise Road from Noblesville all the way to Fishers.

The new concept will include, a coffe shop , similar to Barnes and Noble.

It is exciting to have another option for book shopping or browsing.

IMAX coming to Hamilton County

Hamilton Town Center, a new Noblesville shopping destination just off Exit 10 of I-69 is to feature a new IMAX Theater.

We will have 16 different theaters to choose from. The Theater operated by Goodrich Quality Theaters will feature one 70 foot by 44 foot screen. It will also have a coffee shop and lounge.

This is great, now I won't have to make the jaunt to downtown to take the grandchildren to see the 3D movies.

State Proposes Roundabouts on US 31

More Roundabouts, guess what we are all going in circles. I do like not having to stop though, it is kind of nice to keep cruising when there is no one coming.

We are going to get 3 more roundabouts along US 31.

It is hoped that U.S. 31 through Carmel and Westfied will have traffic signals eliminated.

Carmel already has about 40 roundabouts.

What are your thoughts on the Roundabouts?
